Gas/Electric Bill Assistance

Concho Valley Community Action Agency receives an Energy Assistance Grant from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs. The Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) is designed to assist low-income persons with energy assistance.

The primary goal of the Texas CEAP is fourfold:

To assist a household in developing goals for energy self-sufficiency through case management and a co-payment utility plan.
To provide relief to low-income elderly and disabled households most vulnerable to the high cost of energy from home heating and cooling.
To provide assistance in an energy related crisis.
To address inefficient home heating and cooling appliances through a retrofit, repair, and replacement program.

CEAP may help with the payment of a utilty bill, repair or replacement of an appliance or simply by giving individuals the resources to become self-sufficient in paying their own utility expenses. All programs emphasize the saving of energy.

CEAP assistance is prioritized based on households with elderly members, persons with disabilities, families with children, high residential energy users, and households with high energy burden.
